The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello in an alleged money laundering case to October 30, 2024. This delay follows Bello’s appeal to the Supreme Court, challenging the arrest warrant issued by the trial court in April 2024. His legal team argued that the court should not proceed with the arraignment until the Supreme Court rules on his appeal. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), however, opposes this, urging the court to move forward despite the appeal.
