The Dangote Refinery recently announced pricing details for its locally refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), selling at N960 per liter for shipments intended for vessels and N990 per liter for distribution via trucks across Nigeria. These rates have been clarified by Dangote Industries following a dispute with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) over pricing claims and delivery arrangements.
The refinery’s PMS distribution prices, set above the NNPCL’s prior estimates, were communicated in response to public and private sector inquiries about fuel pricing and market access. Amid fuel scarcity and high pump prices, Dangote Refinery has positioned its production to help alleviate the fuel supply crisis by offering a local solution, reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported petrol.
The NNPCL, which holds a 7.25% equity stake in the Dangote Refinery, has been working closely with Dangote Industries to manage distribution, even mobilizing over 300 trucks and a vessel to facilitate the nationwide supply of PMS.
