Bayelsa Hotel Writes Inspector-General Egbetokun After Police Team Lodged For 13 Months, Refused To Pay

A hotel in Bayelsa, Euphemie Motel, has taken legal steps against the Nigerian Police Force over an unpaid debt of N625 million. The hotel alleges that a SWAT team led by CSP Silas Adebayo occupied its premises for over 13 months, from August 2023, without paying for the services rendered. The SWAT team, reportedly deployed ahead of the Bayelsa governorship election, has been using rooms and conference facilities at the hotel. The owner, represented by legal counsel Inemoye Maxwell Brown, is demanding that the police vacate the hotel and settle the bill within six weeks, warning of impending legal action if the debt remains unpaid. The hotel charges N25,000 per night for rooms and N100,000 per day for conference rooms.
