Federal Capital Territory (FCT) contractors have sent an urgent “Save Our Soul” plea to President Bola Tinubu, seeking his intervention in a contract payment dispute with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The contractors allege that they are owed N5.2 billion for completed projects within the territory. Despite fulfilling their contractual obligations, the contractors claim they have not received payment, causing financial strain and affecting their ability to sustain their businesses and workforce.
The contractors are appealing to President Tinubu to ensure prompt resolution of the matter, fearing potential shutdowns if the payment issue is not addressed. The situation highlights ongoing concerns about government debt to contractors and the need for transparent and timely payment mechanisms to ensure public projects’ sustainability and avoid disruptions.
