Plateau State police successfully disrupted a planned Aiye cult celebration on July 7th, arresting 118 suspected members.
The group was set to initiate new members, raising concerns about potential violence.
Police acted on intelligence and prevented the event, showcasing their proactive approach to combating cult activities in the region.
On the same day, a similar Aiye gathering in Gboko, Benue State, was dispersed by police with the help of local youths.
Three suspected members were apprehended, while others escaped.
All suspects are now in custody, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other involved individuals.
