Tragedy struck the Umuaka Community on Sunday evening as unidentified gunmen launched a deadly ambush on a patrol vehicle, resulting in the deaths of three vigilante officers and a passerby.
The incident occurred near Afor Umuaka Market and Hilltop Primary School at approximately 7:20 p.m.Reports from the scene indicate that the attack is part of a disturbing trend of violence plaguing the region.
The community, along with neighboring areas, has seen a surge in criminal activities, including attacks by armed gunmen and rampant kidnappings.
These criminals are believed to have set up camps in the nearby Ezioha Community of Mbaitoli LGA after being driven out from terror camps in Orsu LGA and other parts of the state.
