MNJTF says terrorist Continue to surrender in Monguno

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Sector 3 in Monguno, Nigeria, has reported a significant success in its ongoing campaign against Boko Haram.

Two individuals, identified as 19-year-old Abubakar Mohammed (alias Garba) and 13-year-old Bana Modu, who were trained as improvised explosive device (IED) experts, surrendered to the MNJTF on April 21, 2024.During preliminary investigations.

Mohammed and Modu revealed that they had been tasked with planting IEDs along roads in Baga, Borno State, Nigeria. However, instead of carrying out their mission, they escaped with the IEDs and surrendered to the MNJTF.

Their decision was influenced by the MNJTF’s recent Operation NASHRUL SALAM, a non-kinetic operation that employed psychological operations to encourage terrorists to surrender.

Items recovered from Mohammed and Modu include two IEDs, two mobile phones, and N53,000.00 in cash.
