Appearing on the television channel Law Today on Thursday, Bukati said that in order to prevent these attacks, the president should allow high-ranking soldiers to attack the public.
“We have always said that the Nigerian Army is weak and I completely agree that the Nigerian Army is dealing with a lot of things right now but there are thousands of leaders in the barracks and thousands of soldiers in the barracks.
“If I become President, Tinubu, I will send all the leaders, no leader will be in the military camp, no leading leader will be sent to Abuja, everyone will be sent to the battlefield and I will give them the opportunity to save children for example and there are girls who are currently being kidnapped,” Bukati said.
He said it was time for the Nigerian government to tell its western allies that if they did not arm the country, they would be labeled as enemies of Nigeria.
Security experts say Nigeria cannot afford to find itself in a situation where its western allies will use dubious language to deprive the country of the weapons it needs to combat fears of immigration into the country.
He also called on the government to eliminate corruption in security and financial management, saying corruption limits the ability of security agencies to intervene and support troops in the region.
Bukarti says Nigeria has the capacity and money to bring back kidnapped students. He said the country should make a decision and send troops to the region.
