The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal lodged by the People’s Democratic party, PDP Governorship gubernatorial candidate, Isah Ashiru, challenging the electoral victory of the current governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani.
The apex court in their wisdom affirmed the rulings of the lower Courts decisions which upheld Uba’s Sani victory in March 2023 governorship election .
A three member panel had a split decision both on the merit of the petition and a technical aspect of the case .
The Tribunal in 2023, in a two-to-one decision, ruled that the PDP’s petition failed due to untimely application for pre-hearing notice,they would have declared the election inconclusive had tue petition passed tue procedural test.
