Civil society organizations (CSOs) are urging President Bola Tinubu and state governors in Nigeria to reduce government convoy sizes and travel expenses as part of broader cost-cutting measures. This request aligns with Tinubu’s recent directive, which limits ministers and heads of agencies to a maximum of three official convoy vehicles and five security personnel. The goal is to address the high cost of governance amid Nigeria’s economic challenges. Tinubu has also previously reduced the number of officials in his and the Vice President’s entourages for both local and foreign trips, reflecting an ongoing effort to curb excess expenses in government operations.
