Justice Binta Nyako Withdraws From Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial As IPOB Leader Scolds Her For Disobeying Supreme Court Order.

During a resumed hearing, Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), requested that Justice Binta Nyako recuse herself from his trial, citing her failure to comply with a Supreme Court order. Kanu interrupted his counsel, Alloy Ejimakor, who was attempting to argue for the suspension of the trial, instructing him to sit down.Addressing the court, Kanu expressed his lack of confidence in the proceedings. He voiced his disappointment that a Federal High Court would disregard a decision of the Supreme Court, stating: “I ask you to recuse yourself because you did not follow the Supreme Court’s ruling. While I can understand the DSS ignoring court orders, it’s unacceptable for this court to do the same.”Despite the prosecution’s plea for the trial to continue, Justice Nyako chose to step down from the case. She stated, “I will recuse myself and return the case file to the Chief Judge.”
