Popular Nigerian actor and activist,
Yomi Fabiyi has announced date and plans to lead a protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly to demand justice for the late musician Mohbad.
The scheduled date for the protest is September 30, coinciding with the resumption of the coroner’s inquest on Mohbad’s death.
Fabiyi on Instagram, on Monday, called on the general public to join him in protesting to pressurize the police to access the CCTV footage from Mohbad’s house, noting that it is vital in unveiling the truth behind his death.
He said that the protest is aimed at prompting the Lagos State government to intervene and set up a committee to retrieve the CCTV content.
“It is imperative that we mount legitimate pressure and protest peacefully to the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 30th of September, 2024.
“Those who cut Mohbad’s life short are spending millions of naira to see that they cover up, create distractions and bury the many blatant evidence.
“We are so sure that the CCTV cameras in and outside Mohbad’s house were working, and they store remotely someone and not via DVR,he said.
“Why the Police do not wish to retrieve it can be very frustrating. We the masses do not want to put laws into our hands by going to ask for it, hence we need the true representative of the people of Lagos State to wade in and set up committee to summon, visit and bring the truth out.
“COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LETS SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September 2024. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending.”he concludes.
