The Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu, has called on Nigerians to suspend the nationwide protest dubbed #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria against poverty.
Shuaibu made the call in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media, Ms Lizzy Okoji.
The protest, which began on August 1 and is scheduled to end on August 10, was organised in response to the challenges facing the country.
The minister called on Nigerians to engage in dialogue to address all their concerns on the challenges facing the country.
He also urged them to have confidence in the administration of President Bola Tinubu, which is working to address the challenges facing the country.
The minister said the current administration’s policies and strategic plans are aimed at moving Nigeria towards economic prosperity, improving welfare, providing quality education and strengthening the health system.
He added that other policies are aimed at improving social amenities, food security and infrastructure development, among others.
