Comparing my music to Adekunle Gold’s ‘somewhat shallow’ – Simi

Afrobeats singer Simisola Kosoko has addressed the online comparison with husband, Adekunle Gold.

The mother of one spoke in an interview with African Folder magazine, where she tagged the comparison as ‘somewhat shallow’.

Simi, who has consistently impressed fans and critics alike with soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, acknowledged that while she anticipated such comparisons, she believes they fail to grasp the depth and individuality of their respective musical styles.

Despite being partners both personally and professionally, Simi emphasised the importance of recognising and appreciating the distinctiveness of their artistry.“The comparisons between me and my husband, although expected, are somewhat shallow,” Simi said.
