Edo state people should vote a compassionate man.

Elder statesman in Edo State, Chief Ewie Aimenwauu, has admonished the people to elect a family man in the coming governorship election

He said people should vote one who considers the natural resources, human resources, and comparative advantage of the state.Aimenwaau, who contested for governor twice on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said: “I am advocating for good governance, right candidacy, free and fair elections and an improved standard of living for Edo people. I believe there is enough for everybody to live and to enjoy, and so for this election, I would be putting my mouth where my money is, I will be helping the people to decide where to go by advocacy not by seduction, force or by inducement.

In deciding who to vote for governor in 2024, the issue should be nearness to the people, compassion and a family person. These qualities frame a good leader. Nearness to the people means availability of a depth of knowledge about the fears, hopes, aspirations and indeed the problems of the people. Compassion means an ability to, on the basis of empathy and understanding deploy resources where they are most needed and equitably. A family man means looking at the state from the lens of the family. We need to strengthen families in Edo state.“As one who ran for office of governor and did not win, I would say that all past governments have continued to endeavor to improve on the performance of the last. Unfortunately, we are not where we want to be but I can tell you that we are not where we were before.”
