The usage of VAR in AFCON is exactly how it should be implemented. It is not biased towards the wealthy or renowned teams, but rather it is used to ensure fairness for all. This is why we witnessed exceptional performances from every team, as they knew that VAR was not favoring anyone behind the scenes, but rather available to everyone.

Furthermore, they even consider the input of players if the referee misses something, and they go back to check. In contrast, in Europe, if I, as a coach or player, request the referee to review a decision, it is often met with a red card.
