On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 25 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud at various locations in Benin City, Edo State.
The arrests were made following credible intelligence linking the suspects to alleged online scams. Items recovered during the operation include eight luxury cars, laptops, and mobile phones.
The EFCC has confirmed that the suspects will face charges in court once investigations are complete.
