Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji, a notorious leader of a bandit group, was killed at Kwanar Nasiru, east of Mada town in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to reports, Gurgun Daji was eliminated by a rival faction on Sunday, who left his body at the scene.
Ibrahim Gurgun Daji was infamous for his involvement in various criminal activities, including orchestrating violent attacks along the Kwatarkwashi-Mada road and other surrounding areas.
His base of operations was Shangel village, located east of Mada town. He was also notorious for buying kidnapped victims in Gusau, further cementing his control in the region’s criminal underworld.
In addition to his direct involvement in attacks, Gurgun Daji reportedly provided shelter to other criminals, including Bello Taggoje, at his Shangel residence. He was believed to have a large group of followers engaged in acts of banditry and terror throughout the area.
The death of Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji is a significant development in the ongoing fight against banditry in Zamfara State, as he was considered a prominent figure in the region’s network of armed criminals.
