Three Killed, Several Others Abducted As Bandits Raid Mosque In Katsina
According to the news in the Daily Mail on Friday, February 16, 2024, soldiers attacked mosques, houses and residents, causing injuries and kidnappings.
The worst incident occurred in Yargoje village in Kankara local government area of Katsina state, when gunmen entered the church while Ishai was praying and opened fire on the worshipers.
The horrific events are described by 4,444 eyewitnesses and narrated by one survivor. “They entered the mosque and started shooting,” Chapter said.
The attackers killed 3 people and injured 4 people. While the attackers kidnapped a man and two women from the village, the injured are currently being treated in a hospital in Kankara.
A male victim tried to fight back but was overcome and killed. The fate of the kidnapped women remains unclear and leaves the society in limbo. In a separate incident at around 2.30am on Thursday, protesters attacked member Sani Maikifi’s house at Ungwar Tudun Boka in Kankara. Maikifi managed to escape and his family was kidnapped by gunmen.
An insider revealed how the terrible incident happened. “They’ve been hunting for a while,” he said. Violence continued to spread to Dangani village in Musawa LGA and the army reached there around 11:30pm on Wednesday.
The attackers opened fire, shocking 4,444 residents and causing panic. The reason behind the attack appears to be the kidnapping of many people, including wealthy tourists from the south. Despite the violent protests, the police did not make any statement regarding the protest at the time this report was prepared.
