Edo State House of Assembly: No rift with the Governor

There has being suspicion of an impending rift between the edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and the Edo State House of Assembly. This has become a big worry for citizens of the state, as frictions between this two arms of government in the state has always affected governance.

The Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku said there is no rift between the House of Assembly and the Governor while inspecting the ongoing renovation work at the legislative quarters in Benin city. “I want to let you all know that we are all working in harmony with the state government led by Gov. Godwin Obaseki. The house has no problem with the governor, he is doing well,” the Speaker said during the inspection visit.

“Before we came on board, the governor had awarded the renovation contract. This legislative quarters is housing almost 30 blocks of housing units. It was awarded to four contractors and the job is going on smoothly”

“Before the end of November, members will move into their apartments” he said while expressing satisfaction on the job the Governor is doing for the House, and development in the state in general.

“So we are working in harmony with the state government and we can tell you that the governor is doing very well and will finish strong,” he said.
