The People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has said the National award has vindicated his choice of  picking the  Dr Ifeanyi okowa as his running mate.

Atiku made a tweet

Today’s conferment of the National Honour on Gov Ifeanyi Okowa

by President Muhammadu Buhari is a testimonial that I made the right decision in tapping an achiever as my Vice Presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

Governor Wike of Rivers State who came as second runner up in the PDP presidential primary’s accussed the National Chairman,Iyorchia Ayu of favourism asked him to step down.

Other party memebers say for the chairman to resign due process has to be followed but this did not got down well with Wike and his camp.

Ayu was accussed of collecting N1b bribe to pave way for Atiku to emerge as the party’s candidate.

Meanwhile Atiku on different occasion pacified with the Rivers State governor for a soft landing but he refuse ,rather insist Ayu must go.

Many see this drama as Atiku fairlure to keep to his promise by not picking governor Wike as his running mate.

The National award has vindicated me as Okowa  was choosen as one of the National awardees says Atiku Abubakar
