New Naira Note: CBN express disapointment over Finance Minister responce on naira note redesign

Bank spokesman,Mr Osita Nwanisobi  has expressed his disappointment on the Finance Minister Zeinab Ahmed that her ministry was not carried along on the redesign of the country’s naira note of N200 ,N500 and N1000

Mr Nwanisobi stressed that CBN remain a very thorough institution that follows due process in its policy action.

I am surprised she said her ministry was not carried along when the House committee interrogated her if she knows anything about the redesign of the naira note.

According to him, “The Management of the CBN, in line with provisions of section 2(b), section 18(a), and section 19(a)(b) of the CBN Act 2007, had duly sought and obtained the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari in writing to redesign, produce, release and circulate new series of N200, N500, and N1,000

Mr Nwanisobi urged all Nigerians to supports this new development as it will curtail those having the habit of hording naira outside the vaults of the bank,this has drastically devalued our naira and want it to stop says the bank spokesman
