Moving of cattles from north to south must be stopped -Ganduje

Governor of Kano State,Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has warned the FG to take drastic measures in curtailing herders and farmers clash which has claimed hundreds of lives in Nigeria

Ganduje went ahead to say that the problem we faced are ECOWAS problem,it is the duty of the body to ensure all cattle entering Nigeria is registerd or prevent the cattle from moving into the country.

The fact is, this fulani herdsmen coming from nebouring country comes with weapons to protect themselves from clash with the farmers,now they have taken advantage of the weapons they came in with.

The cattle rearer in our locality are also not left out as most of them are seen with light weapns and amoury

Gov Ganduje said,a herdsman in nigeria as not suceeded in fightinhg poverty and poverty has not suceeded in fighting a herdsman,he went ahead to explain that the herdsmen who go about with hundreds of cattle,looking at the cost of cattle can not be called a poor man because now he is moving with a moble bank

but looking at his body and the kind of shoes that he wears you can not call him a rich man,somebody who can treck from Kano to ogun state can not be called a rich man

the movement by trecking from the northern part of this country to the sourther part of the country must be stopped

if we need peace with the farmers,but if we are led by sentiments, herdmenship must change from tradition to commercial

i know some of the members of the Mayatti Allah may not be happy with my statement but i have to make it, I am a fulani man too the Gov said.
